The Superjesus performing their Album Tour 2025 at the Rosemount Hotel, Perth Western Australia

On a chilly Perth winter’s night, the Rosemount Hotel was on fire — not literally (thankfully), but musically ablaze with the electric energy of The Superjesus and a crowd absolutely ready to be part of something special.
But before the main event took the stage, the night was kicked off by one of Perth’s brightest gems, Morgan Joanel — the hometown hero who earned her place on this national tour via a fan vote (and, let’s be honest, sheer talent). Backed by her tight band, Morgan delivered a set that was polished, powerful, and perfectly paced.

Joanel oozed natural stage presence, flowing effortlessly between tracks while giving us glimpses into her songwriting process and the emotional weight behind her lyrics. “The Devil’s In The Details” and “Bad Honey” were absolute standouts — sultry, sharp, and soaked in swagger. A surprise cover nestled in the middle of the set had the crowd singing along like they’d rehearsed, a testament to her ability to own any track she touches.

You could see instantly why she’s previously shared the stage with names like Adam Lambert and Jason Derulo — Morgan isn’t just holding her own up there; she’s owning it. A perfect choice to open the show and a reminder that Perth talent runs deep.
After a brief reset, it was time. The stage dimmed, the crowd packed tighter, and the unmistakable buzz kicked in — The Superjesus were about to unleash their new album live, in full. A bold move in any era, but a welcome one — and as it turns out, a brilliant one.

From the moment the opening notes hit, the room was theirs. Sarah McLeod and the band lit up the stage, each track from the new album feeding the crowd’s hunger for fresh, meaningful rock. And let me tell you — this album? It’s a beast. Sharp hooks, big choruses, and that raw Superjesus power we’ve loved since the ’90s, all with a modern pulse.

So many engaging songs but for me “We Won’t Let Go Til It’s Over” came out swinging, immediately setting the tone. “Loneliness Is The New Black” captured the darker edge of the record, while “Something Good” brought the tempo up with an irresistible groove — impossible not to move to (I gave up trying).
“Diamonds” slowed things down, a moment of breath and beauty that let the room settle into something a little more tender. And then there was the punchy cover of “Dancing With Myself” — a crowd-pleaser that had punters belting out every word, arms waving, pints spilling. Just how it should be.

The band, of course, didn’t forget their roots. Iconic hits like “Down Again” and the anthem “Gravity” brought the house down, closing the night with a euphoric, nostalgic bang. It was the kind of finale that leaves you grinning for days and wishing there was just one more song.
There’s a magic in hearing a full album played live — not just the singles, but the story as it’s meant to be told. Tonight, The Superjesus reminded us all that Australian rock is not only alive — it’s evolving, thriving, and as essential as ever.

The Superjesus were on point — crisp as a winter’s morning and f%&king exciting to watch.
This tour isn’t just a celebration of a new album. It’s a reminder of what live music can and should be.
